Work hours and timezone

These settings affect how BioTrack interprets attendance data, especially lateness and recorded timestamps.

The configured timezone controls how BioTrack timestamps attendance activity. If the timezone is wrong, records may appear under the wrong day or time.

This is especially important when:

  • the device was installed in a different region
  • the workstation time changed
  • the office moved to a different local standard

BioTrack stores a standard work configuration that includes:

  • work start time
  • work end time
  • late threshold in minutes

These values shape how the system decides whether a person is on time or late.

You do not always need to change these settings yourself, but you should understand their impact. If many employees are suddenly marked late and the pattern looks unrealistic, review the work-hour rules before assuming the device is wrong.

Escalate if:

  • the timezone is clearly incorrect
  • the listener or device settings were changed
  • attendance appears shifted by hours
  • late calculations no longer match policy

For deeper setup guidance, see Device configuration.
