Assign shifts
Assign shifts
Section titled “Assign shifts”Shift assignment matters because BioTrack uses work-hour rules and late thresholds to interpret attendance correctly.
What shift assignment affects
Section titled “What shift assignment affects”When an employee is linked to a shift, BioTrack can evaluate their attendance against the right expected start and end times.
This helps with:
- late arrival calculations
- daily attendance interpretation
- cleaner monthly reporting
Assign a shift to one employee
Section titled “Assign a shift to one employee”- Open Employees.
- Find the employee you want to update.
- Select Assign Shift.
- Choose the correct shift.
- Save the change.
Assign a shift to many employees
Section titled “Assign a shift to many employees”BioTrack also supports bulk assignment. This is useful when an entire department follows the same work schedule.
Use bulk assignment when:
- you have just synced a large group of employees
- a department changes schedules
- a newly created shift needs to be applied widely
If no shift is assigned
Section titled “If no shift is assigned”BioTrack may fall back to default expectations. That can still work, but it is less precise. If lateness and work hours matter, it is better to assign the correct shift explicitly.
